A while ago I came across this cool book thingy that my uncle gave me a few years back. It’s called the New Beauty Advisor Guide Book by Estée Lauder. He made the book at his job and thought I would like it because it has a lot of information about skincare, fragrances, makeup, etc. I actually don’t care about most of the stuff in the book, but since I don’t know who to give it to and I don’t want to throw it away, I’m thinking of turning it into an art journal. It has pretty good binding and a few sturdy pages. I plan to use some of the other pages in my mixed media paintings. I’ll update on that later if it turns out good!

Inside Book

When I posted about my art journal a while ago, I forgot to mention that I also made a spiritual journal back in July. I filled it with many types of paper for writing down Bible scriptures and stuff that I want to remember. I also added homemade pockets for saving stuff in and added stickers, cards and stuff. I love it so much. I need to start using it more often though because I always forget about it. The journal is based on my absolute favorite part of the Bible — The Love Chapter (1 Corinthians 13; specifically 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Here are a few pics of it.

Ugh, hate this theme, I can’t stand it! What was I thinking. I was going to take it down, but then my site will be down until 2012, so I’ll just leave this up and work on something better when I have time from work. Moving on!

I wanted to show you guys my art journal, made with my own two hands. This was my first time making anything like this so my lovely aunt Peach — who got me back into crafting and painting — helped me do the construction for the covers. Since I completed this journal in May I’ve made two other journals as gifts. I think I may make some to sell in my shop or for a give away. I love this journal so much that I’m having the hardest time drawing in it. I’m so afraid of messing it up, which I have! I have to keep reminding myself that that is what it’s for! I’ll show some of the inside pages later I can’t wait to make a new one!
