If you’ve been following me for a while then you know that I try to draw Aaliyah every January in honor of our birthday (January 16), but this year I just didn’t feel up to it. My new year has gotten off to a really bad start and the last thing I really want to do is celebrate my birthday. At any rate, I wanted to share the last Aaliyah image I made. It was done on 1/15/2010. My prayers are with her loved ones. Hopefully my birthday will actually turn out good.

I’ve been going through my old digital art WIPs folder trying to finish stuff that I started a while ago. Just finished this. Finally.

The next time you decide to restore your computer to factory settings, please remember to back up your fonts and FTP folders!! Re-downloading and installing about 100 fonts is not fun! And I’m not even sure I downloaded all the ones that I had before. I also lost some important website files. Ugh. At least I was able to back up the most important things — art, pictures and music! My mom has been on my back to start taking my painting more seriously, so the other day I decided to start working on a logo. My plan was to sketch it, then vector it on the computer. I’ve never vectored an original sketch before, but I was eager to get back to computer art. I don’t think I’ve done that all year. I think I may put on my Adele and Holly Brook CDs today and create something on the computer. Here’s the beginning of my sketch/potential logo. Drawn from my imagination.
