Watercolor Paper Tryout

Tags

My aunt gifted me this 5 x 7 watercolor paper pad by Royal & Langnickel that she caught on sale for dirt cheap. I used it to sketch a few things a couple months ago, but I was so nervous about painting the sketches with my acrylics since the paper is only 96 lbs. Luckily, it seems to be holding up well with pretty much no warping or bleeding. So far I’m definitely pleased with this paper and would purchase it myself. Although I think I’d go for 140 lbs, of course. I’ll post the finished painting when it’s ready. :D

I finished this last month but I wasn’t feeling up to dealing with this site. I think it came out OK for only my second real try at shading a sketch. I definitely need a lot more practice, but at least you can tell it’s Christina Aguilera. I think!

It’s been about a month since I’ve done any painting or sketching. In fact, I have a few things from the beginning of last month that I still need to post. I’m going to try to get back into my art because honestly it’s one of the few things that bring me joy. I look forward to updating more in the coming days and also working on a new layout and stuff. Unfortunately, with my massive work slowdown, I’ll have a lot more time on my hands. :nervous:
